Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Hoffmeier, prominent residents of Yorkville, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary next Sunday, Jan 23, at their home.

There will be a High Mass at St. Martin’s church in the morning and a reception and open house will be held at their home in the afternoon for all relatives and friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Hoffmeier were married Jan 23, 1894 at St. Martin’s church, Yorkville by the Rev Henry Boersic. Mr. Hoffmeier will be 79 years old on Feb 10 while his wife who was Mary A. Winter before her marriage will reach the age of 68 on July 8. Both are in good health. They have resided at the home where they now live for the past 49 years.

Celebrating the Golden Wedding anniversary with their parents will be nine of their ten children: Mary Riehle, Westwood; Verana Miller, Price Hill; Bernard Hoffmeier, North College Hill; Marcella Bessler, Madisonville; Emmalinda Hoffmeier, Cincinnati; Joseph and Frank Hoffmeier, York Ridge; Josepha Knue, Dover, and Alma Widolff, Yorkville.

One son, Victor Hoffmeier of the U. S. Navy, has been listecl as missing in action since Sept 9.

From his obituary in the Lawrenceburg Press: "Mr. Hoffmeier was well-known as a farmer and also served as trustee and assessor of York townhip."
